Apple isn’t ready to announce an iPhone SE 3 yet, so don’t get your hopes up for one alongside the iPad Pro 2021.
The iPhone SE 2020 was an odd outlier phone for Apple. Fans had been clamoring for a more affordable iPhone for years, and the company finally satisfied those fans after a four-year wait from the original iPhone SE. Don’t expect to see Apple bring out a new iPhone SE every year now though. Unlike the relationship between Apple’s rumored iPhone 13 series and its iPhone 12 family, it’s unlikely we’ll see a sequel to Apple’s 2020 ‘affordable’ phone anytime soon. Apple is heavily rumored to be hosting an event on March 23 where it may be set to reveal a whole host of new gadgetry, but it’s very unlikely we’ll see an iPhone SE 3 unveiled at this event. The iPhone SE 2020 wasn’t unveiled at last year’s iPad Pro event in March, and instead it came a touch later in April. But at the moment, it looks unlikely we’ll see an iPhone SE 3 at a separate event in April either, and we’d be very surprised if we see one in 2021. We’ve also yet to have confirmation of a March 23 event, but it looks likely as more and more leaks keep suggesting an event is happening. One leaker, Jon Prosser, has even given us a hint of what his sources say we can expect, including the new iPad Pro, Apple AirTags, a new version of Apple’s AirPods, something in the computing realm, and the introduction of a new Apple TV for 2021.
