Astronauts return from NASA-SpaceX mission with splashdown in the dark

They arrived in the Gulf of Mexico near Panama City, Fla. early Sunday morning.
An early morning splashdown Sunday saw four astronauts successfully make it back after six months in space. Less than seven hours after departing the International Space Station, the SpaceX Crew Dragon capsule arrived at 2:56 a.m. in the Gulf of Mexico near Panama City, Fla. “It’s amazing what can be accomplished when people come together,” the commander of the capsule, Michael Hopkins, told controllers. “Quite frankly, you all are changing the world. Congratulations. It’s great to be back.” Hopkins was joined on the NASA and SpaceX mission by pilot Victor Glover and fellow astronauts Soichi Noguchi and Shannon Walker.
