Raleigh, N.C. — After a weekend full of sunshine, rain returns to central North Carolina for the start of the week. « Scattered showers and some thunderstorms are in the forecast, » said WRAL meteorologist Zach Maloch. Maloch said the best chance for rain on Monday will be midday through the afternoon. Central North Carolina is under a Level 1 risk for severe weather on Monday. Some of Monday’s storms could become strong to severe, according to Maloch, with the biggest potential being damaging winds.
