The new trailer for the renamed Aliens: Fireteam Elite confirms the game will be released on August 24, 2021. It’s coming to PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and S, and Xbox One. Aliens: Fireteam Elite is the latest in a long line of games spun off from the classic 20th Century Fox movie franchise. Rather than recreating the eerie atmosphere of the first film – as expertly achieved by Alien: Isolation – the game taps into the action-oriented spectacle of 1986’s Aliens. It’s also one of several upcoming several games in the resurgent co-op horde genre. In a story set 23 years after the original film trilogy, players – with friends or AI teammates – join a squad of Colonial Marines tasked with responding to a distress call from the outer colonies.
