BTS Unveils Video for New Song 'Permission to Dance'

The music video for the new BTS song, co-written by Ed Sheeran, sees the K-pop band members in cowboy-themed attire, from the hats to leather and denim.
The music video for the new BTS song « Permission to Dance » was unveiled Friday. The song is among the tracks featured in the band’s new Butter CD single, which was also released on July 9. The new music video was released on the YouTube channel of Hybe Labels, the parent company of Big Hit Music, which manages the K-pop band, and has received over 29 million views since it premiered on the channel. It’s unclear exactly where the latest video was shot. But the cowboy-themed video features a desert backdrop with BTS members clad in cowboy hats and boots, as well as leather trousers, denim and lots of fringe shirts. The catchy « dance pop » song « sits on piano and string sounds that make the listeners bop their heads and bust some dance moves, » Big Hit Music describes. The latest track was co-written by singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran, Snow Patrol singer Johnny McDaid, British producer Steve Mac as well as Jenna Andrews, who co-wrote the « Butter » song. The two other tracks on the CD single include instrumental versions of both « Permission to Dance » and « Butter. » Several users on Twitter have raved especially about BTS member Jung Kook ‘s new « slicked back, » « emo » hairstyle in the video. User @filesjk tweeted: « jungkook sounding so good with slicked back hair and tattoos yes.
