Leaked performance numbers for Intel’s upcoming Alder Lake-S Core i9-12900K in Adobe’s After Effects (AE) suggests that the upcoming Intel CPU could disappoint, at least in some of the workloads.
A few days ago at its Architecture Day 2021 event, Intel, among other things, discussed its upcoming Alder Lake CPU architecture that will feature a big. LITTLE core design similar to Arm processors. Intel is calling this approach the Performance Hybrid architecture, and it is said to be optimized really well to work with Microsoft’s next-gen Windows 11 OS. In terms of performance, Intel is promising instructions per cycle (IPC) improvement of around 19% over the previous-gen Rocket Lake-S processors across a wide variety of benchmarks. Purported performance leak related to the 16-core,24-thread (16C/24T) flagship Alder Lake-S desktop processor – dubbed the Core i9-12900K (8 P-core,8 E-core) – have also appeared previously where it was claimed that the Intel processor was easily besting the 16C/32T Ryzen 9 5950X in Cinebench R20 in Intel’s internal testing.
