A failing component in the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro is causing audio problems.
Apple has introduced a new customer support program to fix an issue causing « a very small percentage of iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro devices » to suffer from audio problems. The company said that devices manufactured between October 2020 and April 2021 could feature « a component that might fail on the receiver module » that causes these audio problems. Only the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro appear to be affected; Apple said the program doesn’t extend to the iPhone 12 mini or iPhone 12 Pro Max that round out its current smartphone lineup.
