The MH-60S helicopter was on a routine flight from an aircraft carrier when it crashed into the Pacific Ocean some 60 miles off the coast of San Diego Tuesday.
The five missing crew members of a Navy helicopter that earlier this week have been declared dead, the Navy announced Saturday morning. The search and rescue efforts, which had been ongoing since the Tuesday crash, have now shifted to a recovery operation. The MH-60S helicopter was on a routine flight from the USS Abraham Lincoln, an aircraft carrier, when it crashed into the Pacific Ocean some 60 miles off the coast of San Diego at 4:30 p.
