Frustrations on Capitol Hill over another punted a vote on a bipartisan infrastructure bill as well as a deal on a social spending package are expected to dominate this week’s Sunday talk shows. House Democratic leadership on Thursday abandoned a third attempt to clear the $1.2 trillion bipartisan infrastructure bill that was passed by the Senate earlier this year. Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and House leadership sought to vote on the package, which included funding for projects like roads and bridges, before President Biden headed to Rome. However, House progressives once again said they would not vote for the bipartisan bill without assurances for the larger social spending package that would be passed through budget reconciliation. Also on Thursday, Biden introduced a new proposal on a social spending package that would cut the total coast of the bill down to $1.75 trillion, half of the $3.
