From private to public to private again.
McAfee can’t seem to decide whether it should be a private or public company. Bloomberg reports that the company is nearing a deal with Advent International, Pelmira, and Crosspoint Capital Partners to go private again just 13 months after it re-joined the public market. The Wall Street Journal reports that this consortium of private equity firms would value the company at roughly $25 per share. The market, as it’s wont to do, responded to these reports by pushing McAfee’s share price up 20% to $25.
