The six-time mirrorball champion-turned-judge is being forced to skip the season 30 finisher that features final four couples Amanda Kloots and Alan Bersten, Cody Rigsby and Cheryl Burke, Iman Shumpert and Daniella Karagach and JoJo Siwa and Jenna Johnson, per Gold Derby. Instead, Derek’s sister – and fellow DWTS veteran – Julianne Hough has been recruited to fill in for him at the judges’ table, according to Entertainment Tonight. Here’s why Derek Hough will sit out the milestone “Dancing with the Stars” finale. ABC Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman, Derek Hough, Bruno Tonioli Derek has to sit out the “Dancing With the Stars” season 30 finale on November 22,2021 in the aftermath of his recent positive COVID-19 test. With the Emmy-winning choreographer in quarantine, his sister and fellow DWTS champ will be seated alongside judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli to help crown the show’s 30th mirrorball champion.
