The president is now reportedly considering nearly a dozen women for a seat at the nation’s highest court.
After confirming Friday evening that J. Michelle Childs, a U.S. district court judge in South Carolina, is among the jurists President Joe Biden is considering nominating to the Supreme Court following Justice Stephen Breyer’s retirement announcement, the White House is now reportedly considering a much wider number of people for the seat. Biden said he expects to pick his first nominee for the country’s highest court by the end of February. The nominee will likely be confirmed by the court’s next term, which begins on October 3.
