More than 1.8 million tickets won a cash prize from Monday’s drawing, but none hit the jackpot, which is now more than $610 million.
There were more than 1.8 million tickets that won a cash prize from Monday night’s Powerball drawing, but none of them hit the jackpot. Powerball has skyrocketed into the top 10 with Wednesday’s drawing currently expected to be $610 million. That alone is already the seventh highest in the game’s history, and the largest since a ticket in California hit a $699.8 million jackpot in October 2021. In fact, that was the last time the Powerball jackpot was won. An increased jackpot to $610 million likely means a much larger pool of tickets sold for the Wednesday 01/05/22 drawing. That could lead to an even bigger jackpot before the 11 p.m. drawing. May Scheve Reardon, who’s the Missouri Lottery executive director and the Powerball Product group chair, said those who played Monday’s game should check their tickets even if they didn’t win the grand prize. « We’re thrilled to offer players a jackpot that has hit the $600 million mark, » Reardon said. « Although no one hit the jackpot, we had more than 1.8 million tickets win a cash prize in last night’s drawing.
