Lawmakers are considering a bill that would establish daylight saving time as the official time in the state year-round. The measure, House File 2331, passed the House last week on a vote of 82-13 and advanced through a Senate subcommittee Tuesday. Instead of « springing forward » to daylight saving time every March and « falling back » to standard time each November, Iowans would keep the same time for the entire year. Lawmakers have considered a version of the legislation for several years, but never passed it. But even if the bill becomes law in Iowa, nothing will change immediately.
