A man in his 40s was killed in a landslide and a 29-year-old man was found dead after his car plunged into a reservoir when Typhoon Talas, one of the biggest storms in years, hit Japan on Saturday. It brought ferocious winds and record rainfall to the west of the country. A road collapsed and three people were injured in a mudslide in Shizuoka. About 1,000 people were stranded at an arena in Shizuoka where a concert was held Friday night.
