Gov. Maura Healey is asking Massachusetts primary school students to help her choose a former state governor’s portrait for her office.
It’s tradition for each new governor and lieutenant governor to choose a portrait of a former Massachusetts governor to hang in their office at the State House, but Healey and Lt. Gov. Kim Driscoll want some help deciding who should watch over their tenure.
So the state’s new top executives are holding an essay contest for Massachusetts K-12 students to help them make their selections.
