Yes, PlayStation is doing a handheld dedicated entirely to Remote Play. Get a first look at Project Q, coming sometime in 2023.
Last month, rumors emerged that Sony was working on a new handheld device designed specifically to take advantage of the PlayStation’s Remote Play capabilities. It seemed like an odd rumor, as Sony hasn’t really hyped Remote Play much recently and it’s hard to see how such a narrowly focused device would be competitive with the likes of the Nintendo Switch, Steam Deck, and other portable gaming options.
Well, turns out the insiders were right on the money! Today during the latest PlayStation Showcase Jim Ryan himself announced the new “Project Q” device. The new portable is essentially a split PS5 DualSense controller with an 8-inch screen nestled inside.
