Three former stage dancers have sued pop star Lizzo in a Los Angeles court for allegedly promoting a culture of sexual harassment, religious harassment and body shaming that contributed to a hostile work environment, adding the four-time Grammy winner to a list of popular musicians who’ve been sued by former employees.Key Facts
Plaintiffs Crystal Williams, Arianna Davis and Noelle Rodriguez claim Lizzo promoted an « overtly sexual” work environment, shamed her dancers for gaining weight and failed to prevent or remedy a hostile work environment.
She pressured a former dancer to engage with nude performers at a club, the lawsuit claimed, and contestants on her show, Watch Out for the Big Grrrls, were pressured to take part in a nude photoshoot.
The lawsuit also says Lizzo did nothing to stop the captain of her dance team from taking “every opportunity to proselytize” about her religion and shaming other dancers for engaging in premarital sex.
