State of Mind: How to Log Your Mood in Apple's Health App

Apple’s State of Mind feature offers iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch users an easy way to log their emotions and assess their their risk of anxiety and depression.
Apple’s mobile devices have long had a heavy focus on health, from heart rate monitoring and exercise tracking on the Apple Watch to the Health app on the iPhone (and soon, iPad). However, physical health is only half the equation.
With the jump to iOS 17 and watchOS 10, Apple will also concentrate on mental health. A new feature called State of Mind will allow people to track their moment-to-moment emotions and daily mood in the Health app alongside their physical wellness data. Users can also take assessments within the app to gain further insight into their risk of anxiety and depression.How to Track Your Mental Health
State of Mind is available on devices running iOS 17, iPadOS 17, and watchOS 10. All three are available as public betas; the final, stable versions are expected in mid-September.
Once you’ve upgraded, open the Health app on your iPhone or iPad and navigate to the State of Mind section. On an Apple Watch with watchOS 10, open the Mindfulness app.
Once you select an emotion or mood to track, you can log how you’re feeling by dragging a slider left and right—from very pleasant to very unpleasant and a spectrum of choices in between.
