Sharjah Book Authority (SBA) and the Emirates Publishers Association (EPA) have decided to withdraw from the Frankfurt Book Fair
The Sharjah Book Authority (SBA) and the Emirates Publishers Association (EPA) on Saturday decided to withdraw from the Frankfurt Book Fair, scheduled to be held from October 18 to 22 at the Frankfurt Messe.
The announcement comes after the German book fair cancelled LiBeraturpreis literature prize for Palestinian author Adania Shibli, intended to be presented on Friday, October 20.
The award was cancelled due to ongoing conflict between Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas since October 7.
