Between her last album and her new one, Pink Friday 2, Nicki Minaj has sent more than 20 songs to the Hot 100. That sum includes at least a trio of No. 1 smashes.
Last Friday (December 8), Nicki Minaj finally released her long-awaited new album Pink Friday 2. The rapper’s fan base flocked to consume the title, both streaming and buying it and the songs featured on it in huge numbers. They had been waiting a long time to hear a new collection from their favorite, but while she hadn’t given them an album in years, Minaj was not exactly on a break.
In the five years since Minaj last released an album, she has been very busy. In fact, she has achieved more during that time period than many musicians will in an entire career.
Looking only at songs not connected to Pink Friday 2, Minaj has still maintained a near-constant presence on the Hot 100 with singles for years. She has managed to continue to chart well with a healthy mix of her own tunes–ones she fronts–as well as tracks she’s featured on.
