Google has finally released the first Android 15 Developer Preview and as expected, it is building upon the foundations laid by Android 14 and updates before that.
After a report surfaced a couple of days ago, the first Android 15 Developer Preview is finally here for all supported Pixel devices, starting from Pixel 6 and onwards. All the features that will be coming to the stable version will start from this developer preview, and do note that Google could remove or add features going forward.The first Android 15 Developer Preview does not bring a lot of surprises but it certainly is off to a good start
Just like the previous versions of Android, Google has been focusing on privacy a lot more than before. The Android 15 Developer Preview brings a new and improved Privacy Sandbox suite to the latest update. The update also brings better file integrity functionality that utilizes the « fs-verity » feature from the Linux kernel. Google claims that “with fs-verity, files can be protected by custom cryptographic signatures, helping you ensure they haven’t been tampered with or corrupted.
