The Union Cabinet has approved Rs 10,371.92 crore investment for the India Artificial Intelligence (AI) mission. The mission aims to establish a comprehensive ecosystem, catalyze AI innovation, and promote AI applications in various sectors, while focusing on skill development and socio-economic transformation. It aligns with the vision of ‘Making AI in India’ and ‘Making AI Work for India’.
Union commerce and industry minister Piyush Goyal said that India’s AI mission framework has been developed with a comprehensive approach to create an AI ecosystem and the vision includes scaling up AI adoption, providing wider opportunities for innovators and also fostering skill development in this field.
