'Oppenheimer' wins Best Picture at the 2024 Oscars

Oppenheimer won best picture at the 2024 Oscars on Sunday night.
Surprising no one, Oppenheimer won Best Picture at the 2024 Oscars on Sunday night, following a string of Oppenheimer wins including Best Director for Christopher Nolan and Best Actor for Cillian Murphy. The award was announced by Al Pacino, who, in a somewhat awkward manner, neglected to read out the other nominees before opening the envelope. Oh, Al!
Pacino, in a hilarious unorthodox take on the classic “And the Oscar goes to…” line we all know and love, instead said, “Uh, I have to go to the envelope for that. And I will. Here it comes… And my eyes see Oppenheimer.”
Pacino began to read out the names of the producers, who accept the award for Best Picture, but this was drowned out by applause. It’s the biggest award of the biggest night in Hollywood, Al! Most people give it a little more pizazz.

Director Christopher Nolan, who had already given one acceptance speech for his win for Best Director, didn’t speak again, and instead let his fellow producers have their moment in the spotlight.
