Ryan Gosling’s live performance of  »I’m Just Ken » at Sunday’s Oscars is already considered one of the best moments in Oscars history.
Since Ryan Gosling’s live performance of “I’m Just Ken” at the Oscars was announced, the internet speculated what the performance would look like, who would be performing, how the public would react and overall, just how iconic this performance could be.
During — and after — Sunday’s show, the internet agreed that Gosling’s Oscar performance was one of a lifetime.
The song written and produced by Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt for Barbie was nominated for Best Original Song next to another Barbie song, “What Was I Made For?” by Billie Eilish and Finneas. The latter duo snagged the award and became the two youngest two-time winners in Academy Awards history, after winning the Oscar for their James Bond song “No Time to Die” in 2022.
Journalists in the audience or watching the show on their TV took to Twitter, now known as X, to share their unanimous love and admiration for this sequence. BBC Radio 1 journalist Ali Plumb called it the “best performance of an Oscar-nominated song.”
