Apple is officially allowing retro game emulators in the App Store.
Apple made a number of changes to the App Store’s guidelines Friday to help it comply with the EU’s Digital Markets Act (DMA). Among those changes was the ability for game emulators to operate on its platforms for the first time.
Initially spotted by 9to5Mac, Apple’s updated guidelines not only allow developers to create and distribute game emulators for iOS, but they also allow retro game emulator apps to offer downloadable games.
