‘The View’ co-hosts reacted to the shocking New York City earthquake minutes after it happened.
The show must go on! Minutes after New York City and the surrounding area experienced a 4.8 magnitude earthquake, the ladies of The View cheekily marched out to the Hot Topics table to Carole King‘s hit song, “I Feel the Earth Move.”
Around 10:30 a.m. ET — only 30 minutes before The View began airing — a shocking earthquake struck New Jersey, sending trembles throughout the entire tri-state area. The rare happening forced Joy Behar, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro, Sunny Hostin and Alyssa Farah Griffin to pivot their conversation at the top of this morning’s episode.
“It looks like we’re alive!” Behar announced as she settled into her seat. “We’re alive and live in New York where we just had a 4.8 [magnitude] earthquake.”
Navarro — who spends most of her time living in Florida — joked that she “needs some tequila now,” adding, “This is too much for me.” It was also “too much” for her beloved dog Cha Cha, according to the co-host.
“My dog started barking and running down the hallway,” she said.
