Disney’s sequel « Freaky Friday 2 » is set to hit theaters next year. Here’s what to know about the film, including which cast members will return.
In March, Disney officially announced that Freaky Friday 2 was in the works with Nisha Ganatra set to direct. Rumors started swirling about a potential sequel in October 2022 when Curtis mentioned on The View that she had personally “written to Disney” about making the sequel.
The original Freaky Friday film, released in 2003, grossed $160 million at the worldwide box office and is beloved by fans worldwide. The movie is based on Mary Rodgers’ 1972 novel, which was adapted into a 1976 movie starring Jodie Foster and Barbara Harris. Andrew Gunn, who produced the 2003 film, is producing the sequel with former Disney executive Kristin Burr.
