A video of a Cincinnati Reds baseball fan who ran onto the field Tuesday night and executed a backflip before being shocked by a Taser by a police officer has been widely circulated on social media.
The fan, 19-year-old William Hendon, ran onto the Great American Ball Park field during the bottom of the ninth inning of Tuesday evening’s game between the Reds and Cleveland Guardians. Before being shocked with a Taser by an officer, Hendon performed a backflip, all captured on video that has gained traction on X, formerly Twitter.
Chase Younts, a sports broadcaster and podcaster, posted a video with the caption, « performance of the night, taser action is crazy work. » His video has been viewed over 266,000 times as of Wednesday afternoon and has been reposted by several local news outlets.
Multiple users on X have commented on the tasing of the fan, debating its necessity, and also praising Hendon’s impressive backflip.
