Kamala Harris' Economic Agenda Starts To Take Shape

The economy is a key voter concern ahead of the November election and often plays a pivotal role in White House races.
Vice President Kamala Harris has said that she would back a plan to end taxes on tips for service and hospitality workers, offering a glimpse of what could be part of her economy agenda if she wins the White House in November.
The backing of the move from the Democratic nominee for president echoes a proposal put forth by her presidential rival Donald Trump who announced his backing of a similar policy in June. Harris made the announcement while speaking in Las Vegas over the weekend and framed it as part what she described as an approach to improve earnings for workers.
« It is my promise to everyone here when I am president, we will continue our fight for working families of America, including to raise the minimum wage and eliminate taxes on tips for service and hospitality workers », she told attendees on Saturday at a rally in Nevada.
With major tourist attractions in Las Vegas and Reno, Nevada has a large number of service and hospitality workers.
