Red Sox Catcher Will Play For Both Teams In Monday's Game Against Blue Jays

Boston’s catcher set to make history in continuation game with Blue Jays on Monday.
Danny Jansen will become the first player in MLB history to play for both teams in one game when the Boston Red Sox resume their matchup with the Toronto Blue Jays, the catcher’s former team.

The initial game, which took place on June 26, was suspended while Jansen was up to bat at Fenway Park. A month laterm the catcher was traded to Boston.
He will go from hitting for the Blue Jays to catching his own at bat for the Red Sox. Jansen will be behind the plate for Boston, while a pinch-hitter steps up to the plate for the Blue Jays in his absence.
« I don’t even know how this works », Jansen told The Athletic when asked about the suspended game after he was traded to the Red Sox.
