Can’t wait to get all of the iOS 18 features that you saw at the Apple Glowtime event? Here’s when and how you can download Apple’s new mobile OS.
Ever since Apple VP Craig Federighi opened WWDC in June by ripping off a rainbow-striped flight suit and diving into what’s new with iOS 18, iOS users have been wondering when they can get it. Now, after additional details dropped at Apple’s Glowtime event, we have an official date: September 16.
The updated OS will let you move icons and widgets wherever you want, tint your app tiles the same color, and make the Control Center live up to its name. You can change the game when it comes to iMessage by using any emoji as a Tapback reaction, scheduling your texts, and even adding effects to every single word you write. There will be also some (but certainly not all) Apple Intelligence features that were showcased at Apple’s latest iPhone reveal.

Even if your old iPhone is still up and running, it can’t necessarily handle iOS 18. If you have one of these iPhones, though, you’re good to go. (Note that access to Apple Intelligence will require an iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 15 Pro Max.)
