Prosecutors allege the embattled music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs set fire to a car owned by an unnamed victim between December 2011 and January 2012, which mirrors an allegation his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, made in her November 2023 lawsuit that Combs blew up a car owned by rapper Kid Cudi.Key Facts

Prosecutors accuse Combs in a memo filed with New York judge Robyn F. Tarnofsky last week of kidnapping an unnamed individual with a co-conspirator to break into the residence of another unnamed individual, referred to as “Individual-1,” on Dec. 22, 2011.

Prosecutors allege Combs’ co-conspirators set fire to Individual-1’s vehicle about two weeks later, in which the co-conspirators allegedly cut open the top of the convertible and dropped a Molotov cocktail inside.

Prosecutors say police and fire department officials concluded the fire was intentionally set, and multiple witnesses allegedly testified Combs had bragged about setting fire to the car.

In her November lawsuit, Ventura said she had a brief relationship with rapper Kid Cudi, whose real name is Scott Mescudi, during a rough patch in her relationship with Combs in 2011, allegedly causing Combs to become “enraged” and lunge at Ventura with a corkscrew.
