I Review Gaming PCs for a Living: These Are the Best Prime Day Deals I've Found

I’ve tested and reviewed scores of gaming laptops and desktops for PCMag, so I can easily spot a good deal. These discounted rigs are worth checking out this Prime Day.
I’m one of PCMag’s Lead Hardware Analysts, which means I’ve tested and reviewed hundreds of PCs for our publication over the years. With a particular personal and professional interest in gaming and gaming hardware, I enjoy picking out the best values and finding the correct screen resolution, processor, and GPU combinations for different shoppers’ budgets.
Having scoured the Prime Big Deal Days listings, I’ve collected my three favorite gaming PC deals below. These picks—two gaming laptops and two gaming desktops, for variety—comprise PCs from Acer, Alienware, and MSI. By nature of being gaming PCs, these products all include a powerful gaming-ready graphics chip and fast modern processors that will run any games you or the person you’re shopping for want to play.
We haven’t reviewed this gaming laptop model specifically, but a budget version of MSI’s Katana topped our budget gaming laptop rankings for quite a while recently. What draws me more to recommend this one is the deal on paper paired with a gaming brand that has earned our trust with several high-scoring reviews and even a few Readers’ Choice awards on its mantle.
This deal all comes down to what’s included in the price compared with laptops at the same base price outside of major sales. An Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 graphics chip is just not commonly seen south of $1,600, and if so it’s likely not running at its maximum total graphics power or TGP.
