Following the death of Liam Payne, One Direction storms the U.K.’s iTunes songs chart with at least 10 of their biggest hit singles.
The music world lost a beautiful soul yesterday (October 16), as Liam Payne passed away at the age of 31. The pop singer enjoyed a fruitful solo career for several years after the breakup of One Direction, the boy band that made him a global superstar. Following Payne’s death, fans of both his solo output and the music released by his former group were quick to buy the songs and albums that made them both well-known, sending a number of titles up the iTunes charts.
At the time of writing, 10 One Direction singles appear on the U.K. iTunes chart. The all-male troupe sends many of their most famous tracks to the list of the bestselling cuts in the nation on that platform, as people seem to want to reconnect with Payne and his art now that he’s gone.
