Amazon is consolidating its video content and putting it in one place to keep things simple, according to the company.
Amazon is shutting down Freevee, the free ad-supported streaming service under the IMDb brand it owns. The service’s content has already been moved to Prime Video, and new episodes of Freevee originals will remain accessible to non-Prime subscribers.
The phase-out, slated to be completed in the coming weeks, will affect users in the regions where Freevee is currently available, meaning the US, UK, Germany, and Austria. Once the transition is complete, content from Freevee will appear in the « Watch for Free » category on Prime Video for everyone.
