Joining one of these groups throws your headlong into the daily lives of Tamriel’s people — the good, the bad, and the normal — gives you some exclusive quests, and, depending on the guild, rewards you with a few excellent items you won’t find anywhere else.

Oblivion Remastered features 13 factions you can join. Each faction has an associated questline, some with quite a lot of Tamriel lore attached to them, and while not every guild has exclusive items on offer as rewards, you do get perks of some sort for signing up. Joining the Thieves Guild, for example, lets you sell stolen goods for a decent profit, while the Mages Guild makes it easier to work with enchanted items.

Oblivion Remastered features several additional factions that you can’t join, though some of them still have questlines to complete or hideouts to plunder. You can join every major faction in Oblivion Remastered, even when it seems like there’s a conflict of interests. It doesn’t matter if, for example, you start assassinating people with the Dark Brotherhood while you’re part of the no-crimes-allowed Fighters Guild.
