Talk show host Bill Maher finally discusses his dinner with President Donald Trump at the White House on « Real Time with Bill Maher » on Friday night.
Noting that he didn’t go MAGA after the meeting, the lifelong liberal impressed upon his audience that his “book report” on his trip to the White House was an honest and accurate account of the 2 ½ hour dinner with Trump and people could take it or leave it.
“What I’m going to do is report exactly what happened. You decide what you think about it and if that’s not enough pure Trump hate for you, I don’t give a f—,” Maher said.
Explaining the reason why he accepted the invite to meet the Republican president, Maher said, “As you know, 12 days ago, I had dinner with President Trump, a dinner that had been set up by my friend Kid Rock because we share a belief that there’s got to be something better than hurling insults from 3 000 miles away.”
While Maher said the dinner — which was also attended by Kid Rock and UFC CEO Dana White — included lighter topics and jokes, he also discussed with the president serious issues including Iran, the Gaza War and the controversy over the idea of a Trump third-term presidency.
Real Time with Bill Maher aired on HBO and streamed on Max and video of the segment is featured below (note: language).Bill Maher Cautioned That His Dinner With President Trump Was Not A ‘Summit’

I have no power, I’m a f—ing comedian and he’s the most powerful leader in the world. I’m not the leader of anything, except maybe a contingent of centrist-minded people who think there’s got to be a better way of running this country than hating each other every minute.”
Among the lighter things that happened, Maher said, was he had his staff print out a list of 60 epithets Trump has called him over the years, which the president signed with “good humor.
