Eric Andre says he turned down a role that ultimately won an Oscar.
As difficult as it may be to imagine any kind of Oscar awards ceremony in which Eric André walks away with an award for best supporting actor, according to the prankster talk show host, that is exactly what almost happened. André says Jesse Eisenberg offered him the same role in « A Real Pain » that Kieran Culkin ultimately won an Oscar for.
Speaking on Andrew Santino’s « Whiskey Ginger » podcast, André said, « Two years ago, Jesse Eisenberg called me.offered me the [‘A Real Pain’] role that Kieran Culkin got the Oscar for. I was like, ‘That seems really miserable and not in my lane.’ I read the script. I was like, ‘To go to Poland for six weeks and shoot a movie where we’re just babbling about the Holocaust, seems like a bummer.
