Nvidia said it is working with its manufacturing partners to design and build factories that, for the first time, will produce Nvidia AI supercomputers entirely in the U.S.
Together with leading manufacturing partners, the company has commissioned more than a million square feet of manufacturing space to build and test Nvidia Blackwell chips in Arizona and AI supercomputers in Texas. Nvidia’s ecosystem partners will spend $500 million on the AI infrastructure.
The move isn’t a surprise given the political climate set by the Trump administration. And Nvidia’s key supplier, Taiwan’s TSMC, has been preparing to manufacture chips in the U.S. for years now and recently committed to spending as much as $100 billion on such factories in the future. But with this move, Nvidia will be taking a more active role in supercomputer production than it has it the past. It’s significant as Nvidia is one of the most valuable companies in the world with a market value of $2.
