The Detroit Tigers and New York Yankees both need to add a third baseman. They could find themselves in a bidding war for the same trade target.
The New York Yankees have been connected to infielder Eugenio Suárez ahead of the trade deadline for a few weeks now. The fit makes perfect sense. New York needs a slugger, and the Arizona Diamondbacks will likely look to deal away their expiring star.
But the Yankees aren’t the only team that’ll have interest in Suárez in the coming weeks. In fact, there will likely be five or six teams, at least, with some interest in poaching the slugger from Arizona.
