Microsoft has officially removed movies and TV sales from the Xbox Store, signalling a continued pivot away from general entertainment and toward core gaming experiences.
In a move that quietly closed the curtain on a once-ambitious entertainment strategy, Microsoft has officially removed the ability to purchase or rent movies and TV shows from the Xbox Store.
While the shift might not come as a total shock to longtime Xbox fans, especially considering the platform’s pivot away from TV-focused content over recent years, it’s still a notable change.
