Choosing what film to watch on Netflix is never easy. Deciding which films in the cinema deserve your hard-earned money is just as difficult. But it helps if you’ve been anticipating the picture, so we’re going to take one less thing off your plate with five literary adaptations set to hit screens soon.
Whether you’re a book lover yearning to watch your favorite plots play out or you’re looking for a fun way to dip your toes in classic and contemporary literature, this list is for you.
If you’re like me and you’re a sucker for the enemies-to-lovers trope, no one does it better than Jane Austen’s classic novel, “Pride and Prejudice.” Joe Wright’s 2005 rendition is a personal favorite, especially when you’re thirsty for lush visual landscapes and the iconic Mr. Darcy hand flex. But every generation deserves its own version of the swoon-worthy romance, and thanks to British author Dolly Alderton, we’re going to get it.
The likes of Emma Corrin, Jack Lowden, and Olivia Colman have been cast in the upcoming Netflix series. And while Netflix has yet to announce a release date, filming has already started last July.
It’s hard not to love Daisy Edgar-Jones, especially since her dazzling performance as Marianne Sheridan in the series adaptation of Sally Rooney’s “Normal People.
