Bad Bunny is making a truly triumphant return to the United States.
After a showstopping 30-concert residency at San Juan’s Coliseo de Puerto Rico this past summer, the King of Latin Trap has been announced as the halftime performer for the 2026 Super Bowl at Santa Clara, CA’s Levi’s Stadium — aka the home of the San Francisco 49ers — on Feb. 8, 2026.
“…this is for my people, my culture, and our history. Ve y dile a tu abuela, que seremos el HALFTIME SHOW DEL SUPER BOWL,” the three-time Grammy winner said, who performed alongside Shakira and Jennifer Lopez at the 2020 Super Bowl.
He also posted on Twitter, now X, writing “I’ve been thinking about it these days, and after discussing it with my team, I think I’ll do just one date in the United States,” a nod to how he bypassed the country on his ‘Debí Tirar Más Fotos World Tour’ because there was a possibility that the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) could be “outside” at his concerts.
“What Benito has done and continues to do for Puerto Rico is truly inspiring. We are honored to have him on the world’s biggest stage,” Jay-Z, the NFL’s live music strategist, noted in a statement.
If you’d like to see the chart-topper (who also happened to steal scenes in “Happy Gilmore 2”) deliver his biggest hits like “DtMF,” “LA CANCIÓN,” “Diles,” “Dákiti” and “Me Porto Bonito” among many others with over a billion streams on Spotify, tickets can be picked up for the 2026 Super Bowl as of today.
Prior to the big gig, the 31-year-old will host the “Saturday Night Live” season 51 premiere on Saturday, Oct. 4 alongside musical guest Doja Cat. His appearance on the show will mark a first for the long-running series; since he served as the musical guest in the season 50 finale, he’ll be the first non-cast member to perform in two consecutive episodes.
Then, a few months after the Super Bowl, Bad Bunny will take his forthcoming world tour to Spain, Germany, England, France and Italy from May through July 2026.
“To a full house on opening night, Benito delivered three hours of spectacle, celebration, and pure corazón boricua, cementing Puerto Rico as the world’s main stage,” Billboard raved about his aforementioned Puerto Rican residency.
“With a set that featured lush green hills and intricate cultural motifs, the visuals matched the depth of his message: Puerto Rican culture was front and center — not for explanation but for celebration.
