Hunter Nadeau, 23, of Nashua, is accused of second degree murder over the shooting death of 59-year-old Robert Steven DeCesare, who was having dinner with his family when he was gunned down.
According to prosecutors, Nadeau is an ex-employee of the country club and was not politically motivated to violence, despite early reports from witnesses that he shouted “free Palestine” before he opened fire, scattering guests attending a wedding and restaurant patrons.
Nadeau, who appeared virtually before Judge Tanya Spony in Nashua Circuit Court, was ordered held without bail ahead of an October 1 probable cause hearing.
“You are going to remain incarcerated,” Spony told Nadeau on Monday.
Nadeau did not enter a plea during his arraignment.
It is likely Nadeau will face further charges for shooting two others and causing a panic which led four more patrons to injury, New Hampshire Attorney General John Formella said at a press conference held Sunday in Nashua.
