Following the theatrical success of Apple Studios’ F1: The Movie, rumors circulated that the company would bring the real-life races to its streaming service. That’s now been confirmed, with Apple inking a deal with Liberty Media, the owners of the motorsport.
Apple TV will be the official broadcaster of Formula 1 in the US starting next season. The deal is good for five years and reportedly costs $750 million. It gives Apple the right to stream all race-weekend events, including practice, qualifying, sprint sessions, and Grands Prix.
