June Lockhart, the legendary actor who starred in such classic TV shows as Lassie, Lost in Space and Petticoat Junction and films including Meet Me in St. Louis, has died.
The screen icon was born June Kathleen Lockhart on June 25, 1925, in New York City. Lockhart’s screen career began in 1938 in the uncredited role of Belinda Cratchit in the holiday film classic A Christmas Carol as the daughter of the pivotal character Bob Cratchit and his wife, Mrs. Cratchit, according to the Internet Movie Database. The Cratchits were played by June Lockhart’s real-life parents, Gene and Kathleen Lockhart.
June Lockhart’s first official screen credit came in 1940 in the romantic drama All This, And Heaven, Too, opposite Bette Davis, Charles Boyer, Jeffrey Lynn and Barbara O’Neil.
