Blumhouse gets out another winner at the box office as the year winds down, while ‘Zootopia 2’ is just a short hop away from $1 billion.
Normally, there’s a bit of a slump in theaters after Thanksgiving’s come and gone. That wasn’t the case this year, where Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 and Zootopia 2 made big bucks en route to year’s end.
Per the Hollywood Reporter, Blumhouse’s horror sequel netted $109 million worldwide, with $63 million of it coming from North America. The domestic take is the biggest ever for a post-turkey day weekend and another success for the studio following Black Phone 2’s opening salvo back in October.
