Sony and E3 go hand-in-hand, with the company taking to the stage every year to showcase the latest PlayStation developments. Whether it’s in the form of new hardware like the PlayStation VR or highly anticipated PlayStation exclusives like Days Gone, Sony’s E3 press conference boast big announcements – and 2018 is no different.
Here’s everything you need to know about Sony’s E3 2018 press conference, including when it’s taking place, how you can watch the live stream from home and what to expect from the PlayStation showcase.
Sony is the latest in a long line of companies that have confirmed not only attendance at E3 2018, but a dedicated press conference showcasing never-seen-before trailers and gameplay from a range of upcoming games.
With Sony showcasing over 24 PlayStation titles during E3 2017, we can expect a similar haul this year – and with upcoming games including the likes of Death Stranding and Days Gone, it should be an exciting conference, to say the least.
Sony has confirmed that the E3 2018 press conference is due to take place on Tuesday 12 June 2018 at 2:00 am BST (6pm local time) for those of us in the UK. It’s a late one, but it’ll be worth staying up for!
Along with the main press conference, Sony has also announced a number of shorter livestreams that’ll take place every day in the run-up to E3 2018. It provides a way for newly announced games to ‘breathe’ and not get buried in a sea of announcements. The daily live streams will take place at 4pm BST (in the UK) every day from 6-10 June, and will be available to watch via the PlayStation YouTube channel.
The good news is, like every year, you’ll be able to watch Sony’s E3 2018 press conference from the comfort of your own home via a livestream.
You’ll be able to watch it via the official PlayStation YouTube channel, and we’ll be sure to embed the video at the top of this article as soon as it becomes available. That way, you can simply head back here at 2am on 12 June 2018 to find out all the latest PlayStation news as it’s announced!
If, for whatever reason, YouTube isn’t for you, you can also watch the livestream via the PlayStation website, along with the PlayStation Twitch channel and Facebook page.
It’s at this point that we usually speculate what Sony will showcase during E3 2018, but, in a turn of events, Sony has outlined what to expect in a PlayStation blog post.
According to the post, the conference will be focused at showcasing an “exclusive look” at Spider-Man ahead of release later this year, along with The Last of Us Part II, Ghosts of Tshushima and the hotly anticipated Death Stranding. Will it be the first time that we get to see what Death Stranding offers in terms of gameplay? We, along with thousands of other fans, hope so.
That’s not all though; Sony has also confirmed that the conference will feature a range of “stellar announcements” from third-party publishers and developers about games coming to PS4, PS4 Pro and Sony’s VR platform, PlayStation VR.
But what about the pre-show livestreams? Sony has confirmed that we’ll see the following:
