[Update]: Samsung announced Galaxy A9 Star and A9 Star Lite earlier this month. The brand has now started accepting pre-orders of these smartphones with a revised price tag.
Recently, we saw the leaked promotional posters of Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy A-series smartphones – Galaxy A9 Star and A9 Star Lite, revealing the launch date to be June 15th and pre-orders starting from June 7th. However, it seems that Samsung has jumped the gun, as these handsets are now up for pre-orders on Samsung Online Store in China until June 14th. Notably, the smartphones flaunt full-HD+ Super AMOLED displays and Bixby voice assistant as their highlights.
Speaking of the Galaxy A9 Star first, the phone ships with 6.3-inch full-HD+ (1080×2220 pixels) display with an aspect ratio of 18.5:9. On the performance front, the processor is not known yet but the smartphone comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. As for imaging, the smartphone comes with a dual camera module on the rear panel in 16MP + 24MP setup. As for selfies and video calling, you get a 24MP shooter on the front. There is a 3,700mAh battery under the hood to power the handset. However, no further details are yet known.
Coming to the Galaxy A9 Star Lite, as the name indicates, it is a stripped down variant of the A9 Star. The smartphone ships with a smaller 6.2-inch full-HD+ display and the same aspect ratio. The smaller smartphone also gets the same storage configuration as the A9 star i.e. 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. In the imaging department, it gets a single 24MP shooter on the back and an identical camera on the front for selfies. As for the power requirements, it gets a smaller 3,500mAh battery.
Samsung will officially unveil these smartphones on June 7th and we’ll bring you more updates then.
